Here is something science related.

These are images of the Manhattan project which amazingly still resides there to this day, though they obviously don’t have radioactive material. Amazing that all the systems and equipment is still there. More photos and neat details at the link.

It marks the achievements and beginnings of mankinds control of the atom, only to abuse it on war, not for the prosperity of its own species.

Found a nice collection of postcards and images of vintage Los Angeles online. For some reason the emptyness of the streets on some photos make it seems so strange and alien. Bet nowadays they are filled and have traffic jams 24/7.

I found this site purely by accident on google image search.

Explanation

Orson Welles performs a narration for a series of British television advertisements for Findus. The clip is also informally known as “In July”, or “Yes, Always”, based on several of Welles’ complaints during the recording.

Remembered this while watching the film Ed Wood, when Ed meets Orson in a bar. I think its sad what happened to Orson. Orson Welles was well known for his films in Citizen Cane and his War of the Worlds broadcast, and it is a shame what happened to him in the end. His talent ended up being used in cheap food and wine (being drunk) commercials, merely exploiting him of his grand voice. Found a link on Youtube that shows his last appearence on a television show, where he died only 2 hours after. He was probably one of the greatest people of the 20th century in the movie business.

Electronic/Classical/Ambient/Piano music from the Series Cosmos: A Personal Voyage by Carl Sagan which I find worked well throughout the series. They were produced by the Greek musician Evangelos Papathanassiou.
